As an ethical employment agency, ERA is constantly on the lookout for new and exciting ways to give back to the local community. As a not-for-profit ERA invests all of their profits either back into the business or into local community projects but our ethical business model doesn’t stop there.
ERA were recently able to provide fully funded HGV training to 10 people from the local area, creating new jobs in an industry that is currently dealing with a labor shortage. All we asked to take part in this great scheme is that participants were unemployed, carried a full UK driving license and were committed, reliable and motivated to work.
This community project was a great success! Once we had selected our 10 lucky participants we worked with local training provider Modal to put our up and coming HGV drivers through both their class 1 and class 2 driver training.
So far 5 of our newly trained drivers have been given full-time employment with local company DSV, a freight and forwarding specialist based in Immingham.
We would like to take the time to thank everyone that was involved with this community project and wish our new HGV drivers the best of luck with their new careers.
