Job Description
Undertake basic food preparation and catering activities related to the preparation, consumption of meals, and clean up, in a safe and comfortable environment throughout the day. Must have food hygiene certificate and ideally an enhanced DBS.

Ability to record transactions related to delivery of supplies, stock disposal and routine catering activity.

Use of appropriate cleaning materials and equipment.
Awareness of procedures for equipment and utensils used in the preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
CONTACTS AND RELATIONSHIPS
Internal contacts: -
Customers: Pupils as customers of the service.
Supervisor: Advice and direction is available from the Manager/Room Leader on all non-routine matters.
Suppliers: order delivery of food items, goods, services supplies and promotions.
Resolve routine issues related to quality, quantity and storage.
Job Responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Store food items and rotate stock prior to cooking, preparation). Dispose of out of date or return stock to appropriate storage.
- Undertake the routine preparation and basic cooking of a full range of foodstuff.
- Clean, wash and sanitise a fullrange of commercial catering equipment, utensils and work areas used in the preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
- Prepare and clear designated dining areas (including the moving, setting up and storage of furniture and equipment) to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the consumption of food.
- For serious issues, advise early years practitioners of children’s behaviours. Engage immediate assistance from qualified colleagues and support them to restore a safe and calm atmosphere conducive to learning and ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils, staff and visitors.
- For very serious incidents engages immediate assistance from senior colleagues or in extreme cases the emergency services to provide an appropriate response to restore a safe and calm atmosphere conducive to learning and ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils, staff and visitors.
